LG teamed up with Trans World Marketing to launch its new lineup of Ultra HD 4K TVs, using an attention-getting, freestanding display. The goal was to position LG’s new Ultra HD 4K TV lineup as superior to the traditional lineup of HD and Smart TVs.
TWM designed a display that was a departure from LG’s traditional red and white branding. By using black and brushed metal finishes, the display helped position the LG Ultra HDTV as a premium product to compete with Samsung and Sony at retail. An edgelit acrylic header using LED lighting with a laser etched tagline draws attention to the display from a distance. LG branding was accomplished by using a red vacuum-formed LG dome with white laser cut acrylic letters off of a black acrylic panel. A small graphic panel on the front of the display allows for messaging while also concealing a hidden drawer for future technology. A push to open the drawer is also included for the takeaway literature. A counter rack display and a header kit were also produced using the same materials as the original freestanding display.
