East Rutherford, NJ, March 11, 2011– Trans World Marketing, a strategic, consultative designer and manufacturer of retail displays, fixtures, brand shops and store environments based in East Rutherford, NJ, and LG Electronics USA, Inc., a global force and technology leader in consumer electronics, home appliances and mobile communications recently won a Gold Award in the inaugural global competition recognizing the world’s best Marketing at Retail programs.
Point of Purchase Advertising International (POPAI), the global association for marketing at retail, presented the award in the Home Entertainment, Telecommunications & Computer Retailers Category for the LG Electronics – Home Entertainment Interactive Learning Center. The announcement during the inaugural Global Marketing At Retail Awards Contest held in March at Euroshop in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The LG Electronics – Home Entertainment Interactive Learning Center, which can be seen in retailers nationwide including Best Buy, uses two stacked LG screens and a custom video program that links imagery between the screens to demonstrate LG’s new line of flat screen televisions. TransWorld Marketing created the concept as well as manufactured the program in-house at its 75, 000 square foot production facility in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The competition was judged by a team of independent marketing at retail professionals representing a variety of relevant disciplines. Judges reviewed case history responses and evaluated entry responses to questions focusing on design, engineering, shopper engagement, retail experience, brand performance, and sales results. Additionally, judging was conducted across five different languages including Dutch, English, French, German, and Italian, making it a truly global contest.
