Minneapolis, MN, October 2015: The Path to Purchase Institute announced the winners of the 2015 Design of the Times Awards competition at a special reception during the Shopper Marketing Conference & Expo in Minneapolis. At the ceremony, Trans World Marketing received two “Best of the Times” awards – the silver award for the LG Ultra HD TV Wall Program for Best Buy and the bronze award for Rust-Oluem Menard’s Varathane Wood Finishing Center.
The Design of Times awards included entries in each of the eight retail channels – consumer electronic stores, convenience stores, drug stores, home centers/hardware stores, mass merchandisers, specialty stores, sporting goods stores and supermarket/grocery stores. Trans World Marketing was recognized for in the consumer electronics and home centers/hardware categories.
ABOUT THE DESIGN OF THE TIMES AWARDS
There were two rounds of judging for the Design of the Times Awards, covering over 200 entries. The first round of judging took place on Aug. 19, 2015 in Chicago, IL. Hundreds of entries were evaluated on how well they met the 4C’s of Effective In-Store Activation (Command attention; Connect with the shopper; Convey information; and Close the sale) and on how well they met their objective. Each entry was scored on a scale of 1-10 and finalists were chosen based on average points totals. The second round of judging was held Oct. 13, 2015 in the Gallery at the Shopper Marketing Conference & Expo. The finalist with the top average score in each individual or combined retail channel received platinum status, and the highest overall score was awarded “Best of the Times” for 2015.
